There were 74 Members welcomed by President Mike who provided an entertaining history of the running of the Melbourne Cup since first run in 1861. The $1, $2 and $5 sweeps were quickly sold out as were the raffle tickets. We celebrated the 21 Honorary Members (over 80 years) who attended. The “Best Hat” competition took place with rousing participation to select the winner.
